Peabody is one of the oldest and largest housing associations in London. Peabody own and manage more than 27,000 homes across the capital, housing around 80,000 residents.
Peobody was founded in 1862 by the American banker, diplomat and philanthropist George Peabody, who wanted to "ameliorate the condition of the poor and needy in this great metropolis".
Their mission is as vibrant today as it was in 1862. We want to make London a city of opportunity for all by ensuring as many people as possible have:
- A good home...
A place that is safe, warm, clean, light, well-maintained – somewhere that evokes personal pride.
- A real sense of purpose...
This means regular endeavour – whether that is work, learning, caring for others, personal development or volunteering. Doing something that people look forward to because it makes them feel valued.
- A strong feeling of belonging…
Belongingness grows from active involvement in the neighbourhood and the spirit of togetherness and friendliness that goes along with that.
Certes was appointed as the main supplier to Peabody at the beginning of 2015 as they embarked on a significant transformation programme, which included doubling the size of their IT function. Since that appointment Certes has been responsible for successfully fulfilling 25 contract and permanent vacancies, including an entirely new layer of senior management reporting to the Director of IT, plus a number of middle management, programme management, business analysis and more technical roles.
