My client is currently recruiting for A Network Specialist who will be responsible for managing the provision of support and maintenance for a range of network infrastructure and systems. You will work with the Architecture & Security function and established partners to support the network infrastructure to meet the existing and future need. Infrastructure Specialist (Network) will have a very high level of technical knowledge, experience of customer service delivery, risk management skills and the ability to convert business requirements into viable technical solutions. Duties The post holder will be a member of the Technical Support Group and will be required to work within a matrix management team structure.

Take responsibility for the operational delivery of data network systems, both wired and wireless. Act as Service Lead for data network services Coordinate network traffic and the firewall, traffic shaper, VPN, Network Access Control and other network security components. Continually develop and improve the resilience of the network infrastructure to support the needs of the University. Anticipate changes in technical delivery and identify cost effective solutions. Ensure adoption of standard tools and best practice for data networking. Identify solutions to meet business requirements and improve customer satisfaction. Scope, plan and lead future changes and upgrades. Manage and drive value from data network support contracts with suppliers. Develop and provide end user training and support. Create and maintain operational and systems documentation. Undertake complex development activities and projects, and deliver solutions on-time and on-budget.

Technical Skills
Cisco CCNA
ITIL Foundation
Experienced in Technical Solutions covering networks across medium to large environment Experience with solutions design, either formally or as part of an infrastructure role Proven experience of service operation and continual service improvement Ensuring compliance with architectural frameworks Experience of managing support agreements with external supplier partners.

Skills / Knowledge
A thorough understanding of data network principles, standards and technologies, including wired and wireless. Proven working knowledge of firewall and other network security products. Definition of standards and solutions and provision of relevant documentation and training for data network systems. Evidence of leading teams comprising multi-skilled technical and non-technical staff.
