Data Analyst - Birmingham
Salary: £30,000 (+ excellent benefits)
We are looking to recruit a Data Analyst for a reputable organisation based in modern offices in Birmingham City Centre. Working as part of an interesting programme of work that will impact national regulation of a particular sector you will be responsible for defining data quality standards and ensuring the data meets or exceeds them, using the appropriate tools to analyse and report on data quality, develop KPIs and recommend improvement actions.
This will require you to work in a business facing role so excellent communication skills and an ability to translate technical requires is essential. You will then use your knowledge of data management to drive tangible improvements in the collection, processing and use of data.
You will be expected to plan and arrange your own work to meet business plan objectives. You will have responsibility for delivering small projects or work packages for larger projects to demanding deadlines and at consistently high quality.
They are frequently required to influence colleagues and more infrequently external stakeholders. You will be involved in providing introductory training to junior colleagues - involving minor work allocation and informal mentoring - and providing technical advice to senior managers and programme/functional leads (occasion ally briefing up to Executive Group level).
The successful candidate will also be responsible for:
*Lead delivery of elements of the Data management Strategy, applying considerable expertise in data management and related disciplines
*Develop and manage arrangements for measuring and improving data quality
*Manage effective data governance arrangements; including coordinating data asset ownership; and establish stakeholder data requirements and data creation and collection approaches
*Proactively find ways to create a positive data culture, where the value of data is recognised and effectively applied to achieve organisational objectives
*Plan and arrange your work to meet business plan objectives, and demonstrate considerable initiative and exercise discretion in completion of tasks
*Responsibility for delivering projects or work packages to demanding deadlines and at consistently high quality
