3rd Line Infrastructure Support Analyst - Contract role

To join the Clients Infrastructure Support team which runs the ICT services for the Clients UK business unit and its customers.
The services provides 3rd line technical support, Windows based O/Systems implementation of and adherence to security policy and system availability.
Working as part of the Infrastructure & Operations Team this role will have responsibility for ensuring all Infrastructure and Processing Services responsibilities are met for UK supported Servers
The role requires in depth practical knowledge of a wide range of Infrastructure & Back Office products.
This role also involves offering advice and guidance to the customer and liaising with 3rd parties on support issues where appropriate.
Routine tasks need to be completed with limited supervision.
The role will report to the 3rd Line Infrastructure Manager.
Due to the nature of the business and its high availability support requirements planned activities and upgrades will often need to be completed outside of core hours
Essential skills/experience required:
In depth practical knowledge of a wide range of Microsoft products.
Specifically Windows Server - All Versions.
Microsoft Exchange - All Versions.
Blackberry Enterprise Server.
Working knowledge of Linux preferably Red Hat Enterprise Operating System
Ideally you will have experience of working in a Managed Services environment.
Experience implementing and configuring monitoring tools such as Solar Winds, MS SCOM, and HP Insight Manager.
Knowledge of TCP/IP protocols.
Awareness of ITIL best practice framework.
Deployment solution experience
LAN configuration/management including TCP/IP, NLB, DNS and DHCP.
HP/Dell Hardware & Management Tools.
Microsoft clustering technologies.
Server virtualisation technologies (VMware, XenServer, Xen Desktop, Hyper-V).
Server patching solutions (WSUS/SCCM).
Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE).
Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP).
Citrix CCA XenApp Certification.
