Security Cleared Jobs or Security Check Jobs (SC) are the most widely held security clearance levels for posts involving long-term, frequent and uncontrolled access to secret assets and occasional and controlled access to top-secret material.
An SC level involves a BC security clearance check, plus checks against the UK criminal and security records (and if appropriate, of overseas countries) and a credit check.
Demand continues to grow for professionals with security check job access level. Not only driven by pressure for increased security, demand is also from organisations that previously have not required clearance, but now expect Basic Check as a minimum and Counter Terrorist Check or SC for security check jobs to work on sensitive projects.
An SC for security check jobs will usually take a minimum of six weeks on average and are generally reviewed every ten years
