Job Description :
Web Designer is required for the interface design, accessibility and usability of the web site, for applying legal (DDA) and design consistency, and for developing cutting-edge/competitive customer journeys that maximise product sales. A web designer’s primary role is to ensure that the clients web site interface and other electronic channels are designed to the highest standards. The role calls for a highly creative individual with exemplary standards of workmanship and attention to detail; who has a firm background in graphical design and front-end coding. Duties Include Ensure the highest standards of interface design and Online customer journeys Interpret brand and business guidelines and requirement documentation into strong, clear and consistent design solutions. Understand web technologies, software and coding standards, and apply them with maximum benefit. Deliver maintenance and project work to planned deadlines. Skills Required Excellent graphic design skills (with extensive experience of PhotoShop & Illustrator). Experience in hand-coding XHTML and CSS. Good AJAX/JavaScript knowledge would be very beneficial. Ability to deliver innovative design solutions, in line with a given brief. Exemplary knowledge of good usability practices, ‘customer journey’ design and usability testing techniques. Strong conceptual thinker, with an ability to take Photoshop comps and visualise how to execute in XHTML/CSS. A thorough understanding of web accessibility best practice and relevant W3C standards with respect to XHTML and CSS. The ability to interpret brand guidelines into clear and consistent interface design. Strong self-management and communication skills, with the ability to work closely as part of a team of other designers, developers and editors
