Security Check (SC) Jobs

Security Clearance Level: SC

The Security Check (SC) is the most widely held security clearance for posts involving long-term, frequent and uncontrolled access to secret assets and occasional and controlled access to top-secret material.

An SC level involves a BC security clearance check, plus checks against the UK criminal and security records (and if appropriate, of overseas countries) and a credit check.

Do I need to have a level of security clearance?
Demand continues to grow for professionals with a security-cleared access level. Not only driven by pressure for increased security, demand is also from organisations that previously have not required clearance, but now expect Basic Check (BPSS) as a minimum and Counter Terrorism Check (CTC) or Security Check (SC) to work on sensitive projects.

How long will it take to be SC cleared?
An SC will usually take a minimum of six weeks on average and are generally reviewed every ten years

How do I get security clearance?

First you need a sponsor. Individuals and companies cannot ask for a security clearance unless you are sponsored, and you will not be sponsored unless you are contracted (or are in the process of being contracted) to work on one or more specific MOD classified projects.
